Others include Ya-Ya on WEA The Opal Butterfly [CBS]. Ya Ya hold the record for the longest ever tour of The Soviet Union by any western artist a record never to be broken!
Royal Charity Concert
A Royal Charity Concert on behalf of The Queen Elizabeth Foundations for The Disabled that Bernie Cochrane organised, staged and produced for television [ITV] saw some of the then ‘unknown’ artists he had chosen, then going on to household and international success’ Artists chosen included Rick Astley/T’Pau].
THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS
Organised by Bernie Cochrane who brought it to BBC 1 Television and long before the likes of ‘The X factor’ this competition became and probably remains the ‘biggest’ ever such live touring contest to be held in the United Kingdom. As a title The Battle of the Bands continues to this day to be a ‘title’ that and is often ‘copied or slightly varied and used’ such as ‘The battle of this ???? or ‘the Battle of that ????.
